We need volunteers almost all year round for teaching to both primary and secondary students as well as the youngest ones who attend nursery classes. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any previous experience as regards teaching young kids because any kind of knowledge can highly contribute to their future education. As a volunteer, you can choose how you want to help our organization depending on your own skills and background.
We offer a wide variety of subjects so feel free to teach those that you feel more passionate about as well as the age group that you may prefer to work with.
As we have mentioned previously the subjects taught in nursery classes are:
- Reading
- Writing
- Oral
- Counting
- Healthcare
For primary school education, the subjects are:
- Tanzanian History
- Social studies
- Science
- Mathematics
- English
- Swahili
- Vocational studies
- Sports and personality
You should take into account that primary education is fully taught in the Swahili language in public schools so you may teach with a local teacher who can translate English to Swahili for a better understanding. In private schools medium of instruction is English Language in all subjects
In the case of secondary school, the level of the academic content is more difficult and for that reason, it is advisable to have previous experience as a teacher. The subjects taught are:
- English
- Civics
- Geography
- Swahili
- Chemistry,
- Physics
- Biology
- Basic mathematics
- Information and communication technology (ICT)
- Geography
- Literature
- Bookkeeping
- Commerce
Feel free to choose those subjects that you are more comfortable with so that you can assist the students more efficiently.
Also, there are other ways in which you can contribute to the growth of our organization such as:
- Website and social media development
- Photography and video editing
- Reconstruction of facilities for students
- Agriculture work
- Community help for those in need
- Healthcare
- Emotional support in public hospitals
- Arts, dancing, and music
- Organization of fundraising campaigns
Any suggestion is kindly welcome aiming to improve our project and the learning progress of our kids around the community.
With this experience not only will you spread your values and wisdom to the children but you will also learn much from this amazing experience, helping you to become a more open-minded person.
