We have selected a number of host families around the community who can provide you all the necessities that you may require including three meals per day according to your dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose intolerance diet, etc.), as well as your own private room, toilet and shower facilities for your own hygiene adapted to the economic situation of the country.
Also, the family will provide a warm and friendly environment where you will have the opportunity to get to know the Tanzanian lifestyle and be part of this unique culture.
You will also get the chance to taste the local gastronomy, explore the tropical landscape of Arusha, and, especially, meet the Tanzanian people and the different tribes in their society.
The local family will host you as long as you like and they will kindly consider you as another family member, Tanzanians love foreign people! Facilities are very basic but completely clean and safe. Electricity is provided as well as bottled water, toilet paper, and any other requirements that you may ask for.
Wifi is not available in your homestay but the internet is accessible for a very reasonable price if you decide to buy your own Tanzanian SIM card.

OUR FEES
Our daily fee is 17USD dollars which is paid directly to the organization’s bank account or to the host family so as for them to provide the meals and accommodation for you. It’s important for us that you are aware that our NGO doesn’t take any benefit from your stay as we believe that your contribution to our organization as a volunteer is the most valuable way of payment for us.
You might also have other extra expenses as regards transport to and from the airport which we can provide for a price of 30 USD per person per trip. Other extra costs are the Visa, travel insurance, internet, SIM card, public transport, and any other extra activities that you may wish to do during your stay.

You will have to bring your own toiletries as well as your own towel, shampoo, soaps for cleaning your dirty clothes, and so on. If you have any doubts please do not hesitate to contact us and we will provide all the information that you may need.
TYPICAL DAY
- 7 to 8h: Waking up and enjoying breakfast with your host family.
- 8 to 12:30h: Teaching children at school and playing with the kids during break time. Subjects and age groups will vary depending on your interests and requirements. Make sure you inform us before your visit so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
- 12:45 to 13:30h: helping the host family to prepare lunch.
- 13:30 to 14:30h: lunchtime with your host family.
- 14:30 to 15:30h: free time for resting.
- 16:30 to 19:30h: additional activities such as school support at the local library, meeting other volunteers, exploring the city and the neighborhood, playing with the children, hanging out at the local bars, working on improving our organization…
- 20 to 21:30h: dinner time with your host family enjoying the local cuisine such as ugali, wali na maharage, porridge, chappati, ndizi na nyama, makande…
- 22h: bedtime
On the weekends you are free to explore the tourist attractions of Tanzania such as day trips to the Meru waterfalls, the Duluti lake, the Arusha coffee plantation, the Chemka hot springs in Moshi Kilimanjaro, safari trips or visiting the amazing island of Zanzibar within many other options that are detailed in this Zanzibar Tourism Packages
